SWCA is seeking an Environmental Planning Intern for Summer 2024 to support National Environmental Policy Act – NEPA – and other environmental planning projects in either Phoenix, AZ or other Arizona offices. SWCA’s environmental planning internship position will provide the opportunity to develop a better understanding of environmental consulting and the environmental planning profession by assisting with diverse projects.

The Natural Resources Defense Council’s Land Conservation team works to protect sensitive landscapes, endangered species habitat, communities, and natural resources. As part of the team, the Summer Intern will conduct research, attend meetings, analyze government policies, and compile data and other relevant information related to NRDC’s advocacy objectives. The Summer Intern will work with the Land Conservation team on a range of issues to help NRDC’s efforts to advocate for and defend policies that protect our nation’s communities and our rich natural heritage from industrial threats including fossil fuel development and other stressors. The intern will also help the team to advance solutions including renewable energy that support the institution’s commitment to combat climate change.
