Environment for the Americas and its partners are committed to connecting diverse students with careers in conservation, natural resources, history, geology, with skill-building internships with national parks, national forests, wildlife refuges, and other sites.
For over 25 years, Conservation Legacy has been engaging individuals to complete important conservation projects throughout the nation, envisioning a legacy of healthy lands, air and water; thriving people and resilient communities.
Conservation Legacy provides support for local conservation service programs under the leadership of a national organization, delivering high quality programming in communities across the country to produce enduring impact through local action.
As an ORISE participant and under the guidance of a mentor, you will have the opportunity to hone their skills by collaborating on a wide array of tasks pertaining to government archaeology, such as, data collection and recovery, data management, lab analysis, report writing and document preparation for archaeological sites, compliance, and historic properties. The goal of the internship is primarily to provide you experience in a fast-paced environment; however, you may also have the opportunity to develop and carry out small-scale research projects depending on task load and interest.
A RISE intern will have the opportunity to work on two very different projects that will impact traditional seed sovereignty and seed stewardship for our region:
1. Assist in organizing a Seed Banking and Seed Stewardship Conference centered on Indigenous communities of the region. The conference is scheduled for February 3rd and 4th, 2025.
2. Assist NS/S in coming into compliance with the World Intellectual Property Organization's new Treaty on Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources, and Associated Traditional Knowledge

The Stoner Lab at the University of Arizona's School of Natural Resources and the Environment is seeking to hire 2-3 students for a paid internship. The internship involves supporting PhD Candidate Mallory Davies in processing and cleaning data for a study on nectar-feeding bats. The position includes data processing and lab work at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Additionally, there will be opportunities to assist with bat capture surveys at various sites in southeastern Arizona.
