Student-run organization at The University of Arizona to help reduce environmental injustices on Indigenous land.

The Bio/Diversity Project places University of Arizona students with K-12 school partners to assist with the implementation of culturally-relevant and place-based environmental science curriculum focused on the topic of biodiversity. Curriculum is developed by student interns and allows for hands-on exploration of the variety of life here within the Sonoran Desert.

The Biosystems Engineering Club is dedicated to the introduction and exploration of Biosystems Engineering to undergraduate engineering students and anyone else interested through lab tours, guest speakers, and design projects.

Through participation in the Compost Cats program, student employees are afforded unparalleled career-based, experiential learning opportunities, and are given the chance to interact with a wide array of stakeholders through innovative partnerships with local non-profits, government agencies, and Tribal entities.

CEASA is a group interested in hydroponics and controlled environment agriculture. Members have year-round access to a University of Arizona research greenhouses to experiment with different systems and grow crops for sale at the local farmer’s market.

The Cultural & Inclusive Experiential Learning Opportunities (CIELO) integrates travel, multicultural education, and service learning to empower students with knowledge and skill sets to utilize as they continue their careers at UArizona and beyond.

Eco-Reps can look forward to being a consistent voice for the environment in their dorm communities. Eco-Reps are one of the driving forces behind our annual large-scale sustainability competitions, helping to bring glory (and sometimes prizes) to their dorm.

The Ecological Restoration club is for anyone interested in restoration, vegetation management, wildlife reintroduction, revegetation, mitigation or plant and animal rehabilitation who wants to discuss research, volunteer, and talk to individuals in the field!

Our mission is to expose students to environmental science and have fun while exploring nature via hiking, camping, volunteering, and exploring the Tucson environmental science conversation.

Epsilon Eta is a gender inclusive pre-professional environmental fraternity at the University of Arizona.

Girls on outdoor Adventure for Leadership and Science (GALS) is a free science program for high school girls in Arizona that integrates outdoor education with place-based science learning. GALS brings young women into the back country to increase science proficiency by engaging participants as scientists.

Honors Spring Study Away is a week-long service trip offered by the Honors College designed to inspire lifelong civic engagement through an understanding of diverse perspectives on complex societal issues by interacting with a diverse range of participants and community members.

The UA Mycocats seek to engage students in mushroom cultivation and mycology, providing opportunities to gain hands-on experience though cultivation and foraging. 

NALSA a student run organization/community, with both native and non-native law students who aims to learn and understand the legal theories and methods that will enable us to represent indigenous people effectively and to the best of our abilities.

The Ramblers is an organization that aims to promote hiking and hike safety to anyone interested (no experience necessary) via meeting with a variety of presentations from outdoors experts and outdoor adventures!

The University of Arizona’s School Garden Workshop (SGW) connects Tucson educators and community organizations with university students eager to participate in the school garden movement occurring throughout the country. University student interns are matched with underserved school garden placement sites where they support the installation, development and maintenance of a garden program.

The mission of SME is to build a reputation upon respect, integrity, and professionalism while promoting awareness in the fields of mining, metallurgy and exploration through education and direct exposure to mining practices, equipment, sustainability and safety.

Students for Sustainability is an ASUA program that works to engage the student body in order to cultivate environmental literacy from many perspectives. SFS works to do this through empowering student leaders, advancing social justice and equality, and in pursuing institutionalized sustainability at the university and within Tucson.

Tierra Seca is the University of Arizona chapter of the Society for Range Management. Member have the opportunity to participate in activities including outdoor recreation, guest speakers, volunteering, and fundraising. Tierra Seca provides a forum for people to come together with common interests, professional development, and volunteer on natural resource projects in the Tucson area.

The Fish and Wildlife Society offers excellent networking opportunities with professionals and potential future employers as well as volunteer opportunities. We aim to better the environment and promote conservation, meet new people, learn useful skills, and have fun!

UAZDivest is a student-led activist organization who believes UArizona can be a leader in sustainability and social responsibility through their financial investments. UAZDivest is pushing for UArizona's full divestment from fossil fuels.

Veggie Cats is dedicated to sharing factual, helpful and healthful information on the benefits of living a plant-based lifestyle and works to provide information about businesses on and near campus that accommodate a plant-based lifestyle.

Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) is a transformative approach to higher education that engages undergraduate and graduate students in ambitious, long-term, large-scale, multidisciplinary project teams.

Since 1976, the WISE Program has promoted interest and diversity in STEM fields through K-12 outreach programs, collegiate professional development opportunities, and equity-focused research and evaluation.
