As the crisp autumn breeze sweeps through our campus, the UArizona Campus Arboretum invites you to learn the history and the heritage of Arizona's oldest University garden. 

Themed tours:

  • Old Main, New Directions in Desert Landscaping: Explore the first building on campus and discover how it has blended the best of desert and adapted trees and plants with water conservation practices.
  • Arboretum History Tour: Journey through time as you learn about the growth and development of the University, along with how it came out of the sands of the Sonoran Desert to become the jewel of Arizona.
  • Sonoran Native Plants: Walk through the Joseph Wood Krutch Garden and celebrate desert ecology and the wisdom of ethnobotanical practices with a focus on Sonoran native plants.
  • Trees Around the World Tour: Delight in the extraordinary collection of arid-adapted trees from around the globe, each with its own unique native uses and folklore.
  • Edible Landscapes Tour: Uncover the identities of trees and plants with edible products that thrive on our campus, including arid-adapted introduced species and Sonoran desert natives.
  • Medicinal Plants Tour: Discover the age-old secrets of medicinal plants used to treat various ailments and learn about the current science validating their therapeutic properties.
