This lecture will introduce the theory, tools, and techniques associated with systems thinking and simulation methods which can help assess and explain the relationship and connections between components of sustainable urban planning and development. Participants will learn how these methods can be used to examine possible impacts of policy changes and technological innovation on the built environment.
About Hamid Mostofi
Dr. Hamid Mostofi is a Senior Researcher at the Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin). He received his doctorate from TU Berlin with his thesis on "The Role of Smart City Technologies in Urban Automobile Dependence and Changing Mobility Behavior." Dr. Mostofi has extensive experience working in the automotive industry and at various research institutes for urban mobility and smart cities. In addition to his research and consulting roles, he is a lecturer at TU Berlin in Economics and Business Model Development, Sustainable Energy/Mobility Management, and System Dynamics Modeling for Business Analysis.
