On May 20, 2021, the Arizona Institutes for Resilience (AIR) celebrated Diana Liverman, outgoing director of the School of Geography, Development & Environment, with the announcement of the new undergraduate scholarship program in AIR named in her honor, the Diana Liverman Scholars Program.

Junior, Environmental Science

I am a current sophomore studying Environmental Studies (BA) with a minor in Spanish.

I am a fourth-year student studying Environmental Science and Molecular & Cellular Biology.

I am a junior studying Environmental Studies with minors in Spanish and Hydrology.

What is your field of study/year in school?

I am a third-year PhD Candidate in the Biosystems Engineering (BE) department, and my specialization is Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA). 

It is with great sadness that we report the passing away of William James Shuttleworth, Emeritus Regents Professor of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences (HAS) at the University of Arizona, who was affectionately called “Jim” by all those who knew him.

Ida Sami is a Ph.D. student in the Arid Lands Resource Sciences program. Her research focuses on climate change adaptation planning and environmental science, and she explores how heat stress is affecting pedestrian mobility patterns and their comfort level in multimodel corridors in the hot and arid climate.

Ladd Keith is an interdisciplinary researcher working at the intersection of urban planning and climate change to create more sustainable and resilient cities. He is an Assistant Professor in Planning and Sustainable Built Environments at the University of Arizona College of Architecture, Planning & Landscape Architecture.

I am a senior majoring in Accounting graduating in December.
