AIR Education Initiatives
Get involved outside of the classroom and learn new skills! Arizona Institute for Resilience (AIR) Education Initiatives offers many programs aimed at allowing students to get hands-on experience. Each of the programs has an environmental focus, and most aim to work with local organizations to help make an impact on the community. Check out the programs below to learn more information.
For Graduate Students
The Carson Scholars Program trains the next generation of environmental researchers in the art of public communication. Develop skills and strategies to effectively convey the value of research and communicate science to a variety of audiences.
For Undergraduate Students
The Liverman Undergraduate Environmental Fellows Program facilitates undergraduate student collaboration with community partners to make a tangible impact in their community while developing skills in teamwork, leadership, problem solving, communication, and project management.

The Earth Grant program is a leadership development program that pairs students with community partners to contribute to real-world outcomes for people and the planet. Students gain career-ready leadership and professional skills and form lasting relationships within a growing peer-mentor network.

The Indigenous Correspondents Program supports 10-12 Indigenous graduate and undergraduate students from across the U.S. interested in environmental storytelling through a year-long skill building program led by Indigenous mentors.
