Perspectives on Earth: Paths to Sustainability and Stewardship

Earthweek is an annual student-led, week-long event put on by the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES). This year's theme is Perspectives on Earth: Paths to Sustainability and Stewardship. The goal for Earthweek 2024 is to showcase research on new and established perspectives on Earth including its people, resources, and the Earth itself. From March 18th to 22nd, 2024, SEES will celebrate the research being done in all seven of their departments and host a variety of events celebrating the Earth and our relationships with it. Everyone is invited to participate and attend!
To kick off the celebrations, here are a few events coming up very soon:
Monday, March 18, 2024
- Plenary Event and Reception: This year's Plenary Event will feature lightning talks by Carson Scholars followed by SEES's Keynote Speaker. Stay tuned for more information!
- SEES Poster Session: This event will include an in-person student poster showcase to feature the interdisciplinary research being conducted throughout SEES. 9 - 11 a.m. Register Here

- Tree Ring Day: Tree Ring Day is an event organized by the Laboratory of Tree Ring Research, providing graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduates with the opportunity to present their research to our community, receive feedback, and exchange scientific knowledge. 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. RSVP Here
- Feast Around the World: SGDE: Join SGDE as we share plates and dishes from local restaurants representing different ethnicities and culture, and celebrate the culinary diversity and expertise surrounding campus. 4 - 6 p.m. RSVP Here

- GeoDaze: GeoDaze, The University of Arizona Geosciences Symposium, organized by students in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Arizona, offers graduate and undergraduate students the chance to present their latest research to the community and receive feedback from professionals in industry, government, and academia, with this year's conference featuring oral and poster presentations from Geosciences graduate and undergraduate students.
