Through the integration of solutions-based environmental design, planning, and management practices, sustainable built environments are laying the foundation for spaces that enable communities and the natural world to coexist and thrive.

Across fields such as architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, real estate development, and heritage conservation, researchers at the University of Arizona work collaboratively with communities to cultivate knowledge and pioneer new strategies for building a sustainable future.

UArizona will help establish new center to study housing equity and sustainability with $3M federal grant

The Drachman Institute will help establish a new center to address the interconnected issues of housing security, climate and health with a focus on Hispanic and underserved communities in the arid Southwest, thanks to a $3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

ADOT launches tri-university Arizona Transportation Institute

In a first for Arizona, the Arizona Department of Transportation is investing $6.5 million this fiscal year in a tri-university consortium headquartered at the University of Arizona. The Arizona Transportation Institute will unite experts from the state's three public universities to perform vital research in areas such as safety, sustainability and efficiency.
