From postdoc Katherine Hovanes:
I am a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Gornish's lab and I am studying populations of the invasive plant buffelgrass in the Tucson area. I will be collecting data in buffelgrass populations at Tumamoc Hill and Saguaro National Park for the next four weekends and I could use some volunteer help! These will be long days with plenty of hiking off-trail. If you enjoy hiking in the desert and you'd like some experience collecting plant population data in the field (% cover, density, demographic data) please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know what dates you'd like to help and if you have any time constraints.
I will need volunteers for the following dates: September 11-12, 18-19, 25-26, and October 2-3. I expect to start at about 7 am each morning and work until it gets too hot or we run out of water. I can provide transportation for up to 3 people and I'll bring water and snacks, but you will be responsible for carrying water/snacks in the field (i.e. have a bag).
