Position Information
- Start Date: June 15, 2026
- End Date: December 4, 2026
- Possibility to extend an additional 6 months
- Pay: $19.89/hour
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Applications accepted until the position is filled
- Typical schedule is four 10-hour days, Tuesday through Friday
What You’ll Do
- Help manage invasive plants to reduce wildfire risk in the park
- Work outdoors full-time in desert conditions
- Use herbicide and hand tools in the field
- Hike off trail in rugged terrain
- Assist with a variety of natural resource and conservation projects as needed
Possible cross-training opportunities may include:
- Boundary fence maintenance and wildlife-friendly retrofits
- Riparian and rare plant surveys
- Wildlife camera monitoring
- Saguaro monitoring
Qualifications
- No specific prior experience required
- Interest in conservation, ecology, or the natural world
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working outdoors in high temperatures and physically demanding conditions
- Experience hiking, recreating, or working outdoors is helpful
