The Earth Science Discovery (ESD) program engages students in grades 3 through 6 with the wonders of science through a series of hands-on activities at Flandrau Science Center. When a school visits for a field trip, the students are divided into smaller groups that rotate through 5 different activity stations over a two hour period.

Job Description:

Students who work as Outreach Specialists for ESD will help elementary school students learn about science using hands-on educational activities that convey basic earth science processes.
Specialists will be trained to deliver the educational activities and connect with youth.

Minimum Qualifications:

Enthusiasm for engaging kids with science. Basic knowledge of earth science is a plus but not required.

Details:

- Interviews will be scheduled ASAP.
- Fall semester ESD program runs September - December 2023. There is the opportunity to continue working during the spring semester.
- Students will work 6 -12 hours per week, and must be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. during fall semester. $16/hr pay.
