Stephanie joined the Institute of the Environment in September 2005. As an editor and writer, Stephanie helps researchers tell their stories of environmental discovery and achievement so that the general public might better understand our planet, its people, and its wildlife and natural resources. She reviews, proofreads, and edits articles, reports, and other copy produced by the Institute, writes web copy for both IE and UA Environment, and assists with other communication and outreach efforts.
Stephanie also served as the English editor and assisted in preparing the manuscript for Water and Sustainability in Arid Regions: Bridging the Gap Between Physical and Social Sciences (Springer 2010) and Globalized Water: A Question of Governance (Springer 2014).
Born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, Stephanie taught English as a Peace Corps volunteer in Turkmenistan and worked as a reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Times-Picayune before landing in Tucson. Other publishing credits include Smithsonian magazine and American Journalism Review.
