Stephanie joined the Institute of the Environment in September 2005. As an editor, Stephanie reviews, proofreads, and edits articles, reports, and other copy produced by the Institute. She also writes articles describing the achievements and research of faculty and graduate students affiliated with IoE and assists with publications and other communication efforts.
Stephanie also served as the English editor and assisted in preparing the manuscript for Water and Sustainability in Arid Regions: Bridging the Gap Between Physical and Social Sciences (Springer 2010).
Born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, Stephanie taught English as a Peace Corps volunteer in Turkmenistan and worked as a reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Times-Picayune before landing in Tucson. Other publishing credits include Smithsonian magazine and American Journalism Review. In 1999, Stephanie was one of five recipients of the Merck Science Journalism Student Award.
